Las multitudes is a play of mirrors and an interaction between two "multitudes". The first of these is the audience who come to see the play. They are one multitude looking at another multitude, that of the 120 actors who, like themselves, belong to several different generations. The play's overall multitude represents an even larger multitude, that of humanity. And we are spectators of its amorous joys and sorrows.
